Rediscovered in the municipality of Città di Castello (PG), it was once widespread throughout the countryside. The tree is hardy and well suited to cultivation in hilly areas. It flowers early. The fruit is small, medium pyriform in shape, tapering where the stalk attaches. The skin is thin, uniformly light yellow with small and numerous clearly visible lenticels. The flesh is white, very sweet, melting and highly aromatic. It is harvested from late June to mid-July, during the wheat threshing period, and is highly appreciated for being juicy, sweet and refreshing, ideal for fresh consumption.
