The mother plants were found in the area of Città di Castello (PG), but it was widespread throughout Umbria and is one of the oldest local varieties. The tree is moderately vigorous, very rustic, with an irregular bearing. Highly productive, in the past it was mostly reproduced from seed. Of medium size, this plum is very elongated in shape. The pulp is not very adherent to the stone which in fact comes off easily. The skin is fine and yellow-green in color with purple hues. The pulp is yellow-green, very fragrant and tasty. It is harvested in mid-August, for immediate consumption or for drying. Always held in high regard for its good aptitude for drying.
