Rosso Incarnato Apple

APPLES / COLLECTION ORCHARD

Rediscovered in the area of Acqualagna (PU), on the border with the Upper Tiber Valley, in only a few scattered trees. It flowers in the mid-early season. The flowers are distinctly red, as are the young shoots and even the wood. The fruit is medium-sized, round, slightly pointed, symmetrical, with a medium-thick stalk. The skin is smooth and fairly uniform dark red in colour. The flesh is white but widely suffused with red from the skin inward, aromatic and sweet, with a slightly mealy texture and limited keeping quality. It ripens in the last ten days of August. Suitable for fresh consumption or preserving.
