Widespread in nearby Tuscany, it was a highly valued winter variety. The fruit is medium-large, elongated in shape, with grey-green skin and no lenticels. The flesh is white and crisp, with the characteristic translucency that gives the fruit its “frozen” appearance. It is harvested in October and stores very well in the fruit store.
